Every week I bring you the latest SEO News. This week’s stories are about Google’s new iOS app, research into top content marketers, SEO ranking factors and how to get more done.
Google’s iOS App Can Now Filter Search Results by Date
Google’s latest update to its iOS app allows users to filter search results by date range.
Matt Southern shared this handy update on the Search Engine Journal blog. This article is a step by step tutorial on how to filter search results on Google’s iOS app. Looks pretty handy for all those people who still use iphones (I’m a Samsung guy myself).1
New Research Reveals Habits of Top Content Marketers
I’m thrilled that, like last year, nearly 65% of B2B marketers surveyed report more success with their overall content marketing compared with one year ago. How can marketers keep that momentum? How will you take your content marketing to the next level?
Lisa published these survey results on the Content Marketing Institute blog earlier this week. What’s interesting to see is the consistencies between companies that are finding their content marketing successful. As they say success always leaves clues so follow these top performers if you also want to be successful at content marketing.2
SEO ranking factors: What’s important, what’s not
This week, Google celebrated its 19th birthday. A lot has changed in nearly two decades. Rather than relying primarily on PageRank to evaluate the quality of web pages, Google now uses a whole array of techniques to suggest a wide range of content in response to queries, from simple direct answers to multimedia audio and video files.
This article by Chris Sherman on the Search Engine Land blog is basically promoting SMX East. Chris is highlighting a session titled SEO Ranking Factors in 2017, What’s important and what’s not. Unfortunately I can’t attend SMX East but if you’re there let me know what they discuss at this session. But I have no doubt that no-one will agree.3
How to Get More Done by Doing Less
Long hours, excessive busyness, and lack of sleep have become a badge of honor for many people these days. Sustained exhaustion is not a badge of honor, it’s a mark of stupidity. Companies that force their crew into this bargain are cooking up dumb at their employee’s expense.
Ha ha although strictly this article has nothing to do with SEO, I couldn’t resist reading it. And that brings me to an important point – SEO is not entirely about keywords, keyword density and backlinks. Its’s also very much about marketing and especially crafting powerful headlines that get the click. Thoughts?4
