WordPress Documentation: Goodbye Codex, Hello HelpHub
The future of WordPress docs is called “HelpHub” and it will be ready in 2018.
I’ve personally been using WordPress since 2003 (nearly 14 years now), so this news shared by Michael on the wpmudev blog, caught my eye. It seems that WordPress have heard a strong message from the WordPress community that their help section (called WordPress Codex) is intimidating. They’re looking to replace this language with HelpHub, which I must say sounds a lot more appealing. This is a welcome change, just a pity users will have to wait until 2018!1
Migrating Your WordPress Site with the Free WP Migrate DB Plugin
Moving a WordPress site, although a very common requirement, continues to put developers in a fix. The myriad of WordPress plugins and endless possibilities of WordPress implementations further complicate this process. Fortunately, plugins like WP Migrate DB, can do all the heavy lifting, making migrations smooth and easy.
I have moved hundreds of WordPress sites of the course of 14 years. But the fact is that I have learnt the backend and so understand what is required. I’d say 90% of web designers would struggle to move a WordPress site without a plugin. So this news shared by Karen on the wpmudev blog is good news for web design agencies. It will help them avoid the headaches of migrating a WordPress site (assumes it works of course :-)). If it doesn’t call me – I can help 🙂2

Online security is a big deal and Securi are one of a few online security companies that are at the forefront of WordPress security.
